[Shun Yu's Hong Kong Column] Regularization of the Pilot Scheme on Community Care Service Voucher for the Elderly

Last time, I talked about strengthening ageing in place as mentioned in the Policy Address, and this time, I would like to briefly review the contents of the Pilot Scheme on Community Care Voucher.

 Eligibility:

Elderly persons who have been assessed and recommended under the Standardized Care Need Assessment Mechanism for Elderly Services (SCNAMES) to be suitable for community care services, and who are not yet receiving any residential care services or subsidized community care services.

Service coupon denomination:

Depending on the needs of the elderly, the monthly voucher amount ranges from $4,210 to $10,070, and there are six levels of co-payment, ranging from $211 to $4028, depending on the financial situation of the elderly.

Services for which vouchers can be applied:

*Note: The following assistive technology products are now available for rental.

Application Methods:

Elderly people who are already on the waiting list for community care services will receive an invitation letter, if not, they can enquire with the social worker of the elderly center who is responsible for the application of that elderly person.

If you would like to know more about the program or have any questions, please contact your local social worker or leave a message to us at Sunyu Academy and we will try our best to answer your questions.
