When we talk about residential care homes, we may have heard most about residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs) or residential care homes for the disabled (RCHDs). However, the Government also provides residential care services for the blind, and the waiting time is shorter than that of ordinary residential care homes. Below are the details of the service and the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility:

符合入住盲人護理安老院的申請人應具備以下條件：

🔹 60歲或以

🔹 經由眼科醫院/診所醫生或私人執業的眼科醫生診斷為失明或嚴重低視能;

🔹 在日常生活上需要起居護理，因而無法在家居住，但亦無須接受深切護理;

🔹 有社會或房屋需要，兼且無法在社區獨立生活

🔹 沒有患上傳染病或可能需要深切護理的病

🔹 健康欠佳或身體機能缺損，以致在起居及日常生活方面必須接受照顧及協助;

🔹 在輔助器材或輪椅協的助下，可行動自如

🔹 精神狀況適合群體生活

Service Description:

🔹 住宿及膳食

🔹 提供社工服務，例如評估、輔導和轉介、社交康樂活動;

🔹 護理服務，包括督導和協助入住者服藥;

🔹 註冊醫生(私家醫生外展到診計劃)定期到訪;

🔹 起居照顧服務，包括在日常起居生活提供協助，以及

🔹 定期舉辦活動，以滿足入住者的康樂及社交需要，從而鼓勵入住者培養自己的

興趣，以及與社區和家庭保持聯繫。

Charges for services:

50 %殘疾成人，每月$ 1,660；

100 % 殘疾成人或領取傷殘津貼者，每月$ 1, 8 71。

轉介途徑：

可經由社工及康復服務單位的工作人員轉介至社會福利署康復服務中央轉介系統，有關申請不會收取任何費用。
