[Sunyu Hong Kong] Rapid heartbeat should not be ignored and the peace bell service ensures the safety of the elderly.

This time we visited an old lady, Mrs. Wong, who lives in Shamshuipo and is now in her 60s. She is now relying on CSSA for a living. She is in general health condition, suffering from high blood pressure, degeneration of her waist joints and arrhythmia due to high levels of thyroxine.

During the visit, she told us that she was an elderly person living alone without children. She also said that she had been admitted to the hospital because she felt unwell due to rapid heartbeat and was diagnosed by the doctor as having high thyroxine level, and now she needs to have regular follow-ups and take medication. After this incident, the mother-in-law was worried that this would happen again and there was no one around to help her. Therefore, we suggested her to apply for a Peace Bell so that she can seek help immediately when needed.

Granny accepted our suggestion. We have applied to the relevant EASY BELL service organization for her and she is very grateful for our help. In the future, we will call her regularly and keep following up her situation and provide her with assistance again when she needs it.

When applying for EAS service, it is important to understand clearly the eligibility for subsidy as well as the contract terms and details of the major EAS services, and to compare and select the appropriate EAS products according to the service users' living habits and needs.
