In the northern part of Taiwan, there is a vast piece of land that embraces the bustling city of Taipei, yet is uniquely charming: our beloved New Taipei City. Home to nearly 4 million people, it is the most populous city in Taiwan and a metropolis full of energy and diversity.
Strolling through the streets of Xinbei, you will notice the rich and colorful architectural styles here. From the modern skyscrapers in Linkou District, to the Red Hair City and Huei Battery in Danshui District, to the Ancestor Temple in Sanshia District, every place tells the story of New Taipei's history and culture. In particular, the Lin Family Garden in Banqiao District, a monument that has been honored as "the most beautiful garden building in Northern Taiwan," seems to be a time tunnel that takes us back to the prosperous days of a hundred years ago.
New Taipei City is a vast city divided into 29 administrative districts, each with its own unique flavor. From Wulai and Pinglin in the mountains, to Danshui and Bali on the waterfront, to Banqiao and Zhonghe in the metropolitan area, the diversity of New Taipei City is breathtaking.
When it comes to food, New Taipei City is a treasure trove. A-give and fish balls in Danshui, golden ox horn bread in Sanshia, tofu in Shinkeng, and meat dumplings in Yingge are all mouth-watering. In terms of scenic spots, from the mountainous city of Jiufen to the geological park of Yehliu, from the majestic scenery of the Ten Percent Waterfall to the relaxing atmosphere of the old streets of Danshui, the beauty of New Taipei City is countless.
New Taipei City's rich and colorful cultural activities demonstrate the city's vitality and creativity. The annual Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival attracts visitors from all over the world, and the lanterns that light up the night sky seem to carry people's wishes into the distance. The Yingge Ceramic Museum organizes various ceramic exhibitions and experiential activities throughout the year, bringing traditional crafts to life in the modern world.
In Xinbei, we can also see the intermingling of different generations. In Sanshia Old Street, young people walk between the ancient buildings and taste traditional blue-dyed products; in Banqiao 435 Art and Culture District, seniors and children participate in a variety of art workshops and create beautiful memories together.
Early in the morning, when the first ray of sunshine falls on the land of Xinbei, the whole city begins to wake up. In Jiufen, Ruifang District, the teahouses on the old street are already busy, and the fragrant aroma of tea wafts over the mountains, attracting tourists to stop and sip tea. At noon, the old streets of Danshui are bustling with activity. Tourists walk between the food stalls, tasting the authentic Ajisai and Fish Ball Soup. At the fisherman's wharf in the distance, fishing boats slowly enter, bringing fresh seafood, adding a bit of vitality to this coastal city.
In the late afternoon in Linkou, a modern shopping center is crowded with people. Not far away is the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, one of the largest medical centers in Taiwan, where countless lives are taken care of and treated every day. In the evening, the bike path on the left bank of Bali is crowded with sports enthusiasts. When the setting sun slowly sank into the Danshui River, the whole sky was dyed golden red, and people on the bike path stopped to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
As night falls, the night market in the Bitan Scenic Area of Xindian is bustling with activity. Various snack stalls emit tempting aromas, and the sound of laughter rises and falls. On the nearby Bitan Suspension Bridge, couples snuggle together, enjoying the gorgeous light show on the bridge and feeling the romantic atmosphere of Xinbei.
In this land full of vitality and warmth, there is a special organization that deserves our attention: the "Jiehui Social Welfare Charitable Foundation". This foundation is not only a social welfare organization, but also an important part of the New Taipei City community, providing warm care and practical assistance to local residents.
Established in 1994, the Foundation is headquartered in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City. Over the years, the Foundation has been committed to promoting social welfare, caring for the underprivileged, and fostering community development. Their services cover a wide range of areas such as elderly care, children's welfare, and services for the physically and mentally challenged, and have made great contributions to the social welfare of New Taipei City.
The Foundation's work is closely linked to community life in New Taipei City. For example, during the annual Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, the Jiehui Foundation organizes teams of volunteers to assist the mobility-impaired elderly and physically and mentally challenged to participate in this beautiful festival. At the Yingge Ceramic Museum, the Foundation also collaborates with local artists to provide pottery therapy sessions for the underprivileged, helping them to release stress and discover the joy of life.
The existence of the Kaihui Foundation has injected more love and warmth into this beautiful city of Xinbei. It is like a bright light in the land of Xinbei, illuminating the lives of disadvantaged groups and bringing more cohesion and hope to the community.
