In Hong Kong, many people are unable to improve their poor living environment due to various constraints in the real world. For example, walls and ceilings are spalling, which affects health, and accidents of elderly people falling down due to failure to meet the home safety standards at home happen from time to time. However, the thresholds and conditions for government subsidies are often more restrictive and the application period is lengthy, so Sunyu Academy hopes to help people with financial difficulties to carry out home maintenance services through the Love Repair Service Program, in order to enhance the safety of the public's home environments. It is our hope that this program will help to alleviate the plight of the public.

๐น Provide home maintenance services for elderly with urgent financial difficulties and potential home safety hazards
๐น Two-elderly family members (only the two elderly persons living in the same household) / singleton elderly persons aged 65 or above holding Hong Kong Identity Cards and receiving one of the following types of social welfare allowances at the same time
๐น CSSA; or
๐น Old Age Living Allowance; or
๐น Disability Allowance; or
๐น OAA (commonly known as raw fruit gold)

ย Remarks: Tenants of sub-divided units are not eligible to apply for this scheme.

This program is designed to provide home repair services for seniors who have safety hazards in their homes. The general repair contents are as follows:
๐น Concrete Repair
๐น Wall Patching
๐น Tile or floor refinishing
๐น Damaged door or window
ย

**Referrals must be made through social workers of registered social welfare organizations. Self-applications from individuals will not be accepted.

Registered social workers of social welfare organizations are required to conduct eligibility screening and make referrals of cases and are required to meet the following criteria:

๐น aged 65 or above; and
๐น Limited financial means (as assessed by the referrer); and
๐น living alone / living with elderly people; and ย
๐น Lack of kinship / family care support

1. Each case will be assessed according to risk and need in order to provide the most appropriate maintenance service.
2. Photos of repairs are required to prove that there are hidden safety hazards in the home, e.g. damage to walls, ceilings, floor tiles or floors, doors or windows, etc. (Photos of repairs are required)

The maximum amount of each allowance is HK$10,000.

1. The objective of the "Hong Kong Shun Yu Oi Maintenance Subsidy Scheme" is to improve the home safety of the elderly, and only works targeting at home safety are applicable to this scheme. Elderly people who wish to beautify their homes are not eligible to apply for the Scheme.
