‍隨著經濟起飛的年代逝去，漸漸地，年輕人對於加薪、結婚、生子、買車、買房不再想望，連過去人們口中的「五子登科」都不大提起。根據人力銀行調查，在上班族心目中，每月家庭收入至少得達到8萬元水準，方才養得起一個小孩；但在現實生活中，一個家庭的平均月收入不過7.2萬元，其間落差教人望而卻步。 根據台灣雅虎新聞報導指出，逾六成家長經濟、教育子女壓力大，疫情衝擊影響加劇。家扶基金會2021年3月17日公布「2021年教養知能與生活情境調查」，數據呈現家長壓力來源前三大為經濟(70.3%)、教育(64.8%)及養育(46.0%)子女。防疫新生活推動至今，調查顯示疫情對生活影響，逾三成(36.8%)家長表示收入減少、照顧子女壓力增加(36.2%)。 為促進兒童及少年身心健全發展，因應兒少多元的福利需求，政府及民間部門提供各項經濟補助及服務措施。

With the passing of the era of economic take-off, gradually, young people no longer want to raise their salary, get married, have children, buy a car, buy a house, and even the "five children" that people used to talk about are not mentioned much. According to a survey conducted by the Manpower Bank, in the minds of office workers, a family's monthly income must be at least $80,000 in order to raise a child; however, in reality, the average monthly income of a family is only $72,000, and the difference between the two is a deterrent.

1997年，「財團法人麥當勞叔叔之家慈善基金會」由台灣麥當勞以新台幣3000萬捐助成立，3月27日獲內政部許可，並於4月15日正式向法院登記後成立。承接全球基金會的使命與願景，透過獨立運作、社會大眾與企業公益伙伴的支持下，看見台灣兒童的需求，籌辦多項兒童關懷服務方案，為促進台灣兒童健康與福祉而努力。

In order to create a friendly childcare environment where parents in Taipei City can receive assistance and support in childbearing, parenting, and education, the Taipei City Government actively promotes the policy of "One Parent-Child Center for Each District" and childcare-friendly service locations. Each of Taipei City's 12 administrative districts has set up their own unique parent-child centers, and there are currently a total of 13 parent-child centers; in the vast New Taipei City, 76 parent-child centers have been set up by combining with public daycare centers. Parent-child centers offer childcare and parenting seminars, parent-child activities, childcare counseling, and community outreach services that meet the needs of young children's development.
