2022年07月20日，38歲胡姓工人在15樓施工時，疑似不慎踩空，跌落到3樓風管內。青埔分隊分隊長說，「到達現場發現，工人已經受困在風管的後方，我們使用圓盤切割器，把他鋸開之後救出」。胡姓工人全身多處開放性骨折，即使在救護車內已為他裝上自動心肺復甦機，持續壓胸，但送醫搶救後，仍宣告不治。 事隔三日，高醫岡山醫院新建工程2022年07月23日下午也發生工安意外，一名45歲蔡姓焊接工人不慎於3樓墜落，當場失去呼吸心跳，經送往岡山秀傳醫院搶救後，再轉送至高醫附設醫院，目前仍在加護病房觀察中。‍勞動部去年勞檢年報顯示「職災千人率（平均每千名工作者死傷及失能人次）」十年來首度攀升，也比2019年高；勞動部職安署分析，主因落在營造、餐飲、運輸倉儲等三大類勞工較多。勞動部統計，扣掉交通事故，營造業2019年職災死亡人數168人、2020年142人，都位居各行業職災死亡之首。‍突如其來的工安意外事件，輕者造成輕、重傷，重者致死，當事人可能永久必須面對失能，或家人要面對離世的悲痛，最嚴重的問題是造成家庭頓失經濟重擔，圓滿家面臨破碎失衡，面對這些意外發生時，民眾該如何面對與因應呢?

2022年07月19日，桃園1家總共8口到花蓮砂婆礑溪玩水，沒想到其中2個小孩掉入深水區，爸爸看到馬上跳水搶救，想救出2個女兒，但父親卻因此溺水，緊急送醫搶救後還是宣告不治。 2022年07月20日下午1點多，高雄市左營蓮池潭發生一起風帆翻船事件，王姓學童與蔡姓教練雙雙落水後失蹤，王童率先被救起，送醫急救後不治，蔡姓教練失蹤待尋，搜救人員正持續搜救中，資深帆船教練推測兩人可能是遭劇烈迴旋的桅桿擊中落水。 隨著暑假到來，登山或水域遊憩活動是國人常見的消暑選擇，台灣內政部根據各級消防機關執行水域救援統計，2014年至2018年近五年平均每年約有440人溺水死亡，最容易發生意外的區域在「溪河」。其實大多數溺水事故是可以預防的，但悲劇發生只需要幾秒鐘，若天氣惡劣、水流強勁、水中發生緊急情況，即使是最有經驗的游泳者，也可能處於危險中。

基隆市黃姓工程師多年前妻子罹病後就獨自照顧身心障礙、行動不便的女兒，每天帶著她上、下班。今年6月2日中午，鄰居發現黃男家中傳出臭味，且多日未見父女二人出現，擔心兩人狀況，報警處理。警方打開黃家後，發現父女躺在房內，已死亡多日，因黃男遺體腐敗較女兒嚴重，初步推測黃女因父親死後無人照顧，伴屍數日後身亡。 在台灣大多數居住在社區的身心障礙者，均是由父母、手足等(親人)擔任主要照顧者角色，而身心障礙者因身體的特殊性，隨著年齡增長，導致他們在超過35歲就逐漸邁向老化階段，而老化的身障者加上高齡親人的組合，我們稱之為「雙老家庭」。根據統計，台灣的智能障礙者家庭，77%的被照顧者，已經進入老憨兒階段，於是他們更高齡的父母，必須挺著年邁身軀繼續照顧，一旦病逝，家中又沒有其他親人可以接續照顧的話，這些老憨兒連基本的生活自理都不會，生活將立刻陷入困境。台灣將邁入超高齡化社會，使得「雙老家庭」比例逐年升高，台灣身障者家庭正面臨身障者與其照顧者雙重老化之現象，已成為明顯趨勢。
